PLACEMENT CLASSES
NEW TO CD OR READY TO LEVEL UP?
Our level placement classes are designed to ensure every dancer is set up for success by joining a group that matches their current skills and abilities. In total, we offer five levels: 1, 2, 3, 4, and Crew. Each level builds on specific prerequisites, and this structure allows our instructors to maintain a consistent and progressive curriculum across our programs.
A PLACEMENT CLASS IS REQUIRED IF YOU ARE:
- A new dancer joining CD for the first time and interested in joining Levels 3, 4, and/or Crew.
OR
- A current CD Signature Progressive dancer looking to level up to Levels 3, 4, or Crew. Ex. Currently Level 2 moving into Level 3 or currently L4 moving up to Crew.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Placement Classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes long and designed to match you with the level that best suits your current abilities.
Instructors will guide you through material from Levels 3, 4, and Crew, using drills, choreography, and movement challenges to assess your adaptability and technique. A team of faculty members will observe both in class and via video footage to collaboratively determine placements for each dancer. Our goal is to provide personalized guidance to help you grow and maximize your training. This is not an audition, so we encourage you to take the class at a pace that feels good to you!
After the Placement Class:
An email will be sent within 24hr after class with recommended level(s) to join, along with some tips that could be helpful in creating your personal dance roadmap. Once you receive your placement, you’re welcome to register for any program that matches your level or any level below it.
