Why Placement Classes Matter for Levels 3 & 4
To ensure every dancer is set up for success, our placement classes help match individuals with a group that aligns with their current skills and experience. Our Signature Progressives are available in four levels: 1, 2, 3, and 4 — each building on specific foundational techniques and training goals. While Levels 1 and 2 are self-assessed, Levels 3 and 4 require placement to maintain the integrity of a consistent and progressive curriculum. This structure allows our instructors to provide more targeted coaching and ensures dancers are challenged and supported in the right environment.

A PLACEMENT CLASS IS REQUIRED IF ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:
- A new dancer joining CD for the first time and interested in joining Levels 3 or 4.
- A current CD Signature Progressive dancer looking to level up to Levels 3 or 4. Ex. Currently Level 2 moving into Level 3/Level 3 to Level 4.
- A current Level 3, 4, or Crew CD Signature Progressive dancer interested in joining Level 3 Jazz Funk.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Placement Classes are 1 hour and 30 minutes long and designed to match you with the level that best suits your current abilities.
Instructors will guide you through material from Levels 3 and 4, using drills, choreography, and movement challenges to assess your adaptability, technique, and experience. A team of faculty members will observe both in class and via video footage to collaboratively determine placements for each dancer. Our goal is to provide personalized guidance to help you grow and maximize your training. This is not an audition, so we encourage you to take the class at a pace that feels good to you!
After the Placement Class:
An email will be sent within 48hr after class with recommended level(s) to join, along with some tips that could be helpful in creating your personal dance roadmap. Once you receive your placement, you’re welcome to register for any program that matches your level or any level below it.
