Our Signature Progressive is an immersive 18-week dance training & performance experience for adults. Develop the skills to become a strong, versatile dancer and learn the ins and outs of preparing for a live stage performance from an expert team of instructors.

PROGRAM FORMAT.

18-Week program. Each group will train with their group over four months (and a bit) and perform 1-2 performance pieces at the final showcases, where over 180 dancers will take over the stage for two nights of celebration. Weekly sessions will build upon each other, either in technique, choreography, or both. Start each class with a warm up, dive into 30min of tech and training, and finish with ~50min of choreo and show prep.

LEVELS AVAILABLE:

Everyone is welcome to join Levels 1 & 2 using our self-assessment tools and without any placement classes. To register in our Levels 3, 4, & Crew, a Placement Intake Form is required, where our faculty members will provide recommendations for a level to join, either based on previous program experience or in a Placement Class. More information on Placements below. Before every season begins, we also offer a variety of Taster Classes, which gives you the opportunity to take class from multiple instructors and at different levels.

  • Beginner. Ideal for those who have good rhythm and basic experience in movement but are new to hip hop and choreography. You'll build up the foundations of a variety of grooves, drills, and choreography styles.

    We recommend taking Level 1 two seasons in a row for new dancers.

  • Beginner/Intermediate. Has a strong understanding of grooves and hip hop fundamentals, can pick up choreography at a medium pace, and is exploring personal style and movement.

  • Intermediate. Has a strong understanding of musicality and textures, has good understanding of a variety of styles, and can pick up choreography at a fast pace.

  • Intermediate/Advanced. Sufficient in a variety of styles, has good understanding of freestyle concepts, can learn choreography at a fast pace and execute with personal flavour.

  • Application required. Advanced understanding of movement in a variety of styles, crisp execution, and performance abilities. Sufficient in freestyle concepts and building personal choreography.

PLACEMENTS & PLACEMENT CLASSES.

In order to provide a more customized training experience for our dancers throughout the season, we are excited to introduce Placement Recommendations for our Levels 3, 4, & Crew Signature Progressives. Don’t worry, this is not an audition process. Instead, the Placement Intake Form gives dancers an opportunity to receive valuable insight on their progress and allows our team to provide guidance on getting the most out of your training at CD. Everyone will have a place in our Signature Progressives.

DOUBLE PROGRAM?

Wanting to take your training to the next level and participate in TWO Signature Progressives simultaneously this season? Yes, we can definitely make that happen. We offer an adjusted rate for additional progressives so that you’re not paying double for things you don’t need to pay twice for. This includes the Pre-Show Meet, Custom Seasonal Gear, and Clubhouse Membership & Perks.

Discounted Pricing for an additional progressive: $550 +gst.
This fee includes everything from the Signature Progressive package.

To Register: Go ahead and place a deposit on the second progressive of your choice. Our team will follow up with a payment options email, which will recognize your two programs and your discounts before any further charges.

WHO IS THIS PROGRESSIVE SUITABLE FOR?

This progressive is perfect for dancers looking to take their dancing and performing to the next level alongside a great team and community. Our community is made up of busy adults, typically ages 25-45, who have a passion for dance, good music, and taking on new challenges.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Our Fall 2024 Signature Progressives are officially available for registration! Register online HERE. To register in a progressive, you will have to place a deposit amount of $145 +gst.

WHAT’S THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY?

20 dancers per program. We have a maximum capacity on the class to ensure that all students are receiving high quality training and feedback from the instructors.

WHAT IF I HAVE CONFLICTING DATES?

We offer up to 4 make-up sessions for missed classes throughout the season. You can select from our Pop-Up Workshops as a make-up option. Simply complete an Absence Form (link provided upon registration) at least 24 hours before your missed class to confirm and you’ll receive a class credit in your account. You can apply these class credits anytime before the end of the season.

COMMITMENT:

To join our Signature Progressive, we expect that you commit to the entirety of the program to get the most out of your CD training experience, including weekly sessions, Pre-Show Meet, & club showcase. However, life happens, we get it! So we ask that you prioritize attending a minimum of 85% of sessions and are able to make the final 4 weeks leading up to the showcase.
